Description: history, art and science, anthropology (including archaeology), astrophysics and astronomy, earth sciences and paleobiology, ecology, behavioural and environmental sciences (including an emphasis on the tropics, evolutionary and systematic biology), history of science and technology, history of art (especially American, contemporary, African, and Asian art, twentieth-century American crafts, and decorative arts). Open to: nationals of all countries having either substantially completed doctoral requirements or received their doctorate in the past 7 years; graduate students wishing to conduct individual research under staff supervision. The Institute's facilities are also open to scholars and scientists interested in limited appointments without financial support. Duration: 3 to 12 months (senior postdoctoral appointments); 6 to 12 months (predoctoral or postdoctoral); 10 weeks (graduate students).
