Scholarships: Australian Research Council Research Fellowships. 

Description: (a) Australian Postdoctoral Research Fellowships; (b) Australian Research Fellowships; (c) Australian Senior Research Fellowships; (d) Queen Elizabeth II Fellowships. 

Open to: candidates of any nationality holding a Ph.D. or equivalent qualification and (a) a written agreement of the proposed institution to host the project, preference given to Australian citizens; (b) at least 2 years' post-doctoral experience at the time of application, an excellent academic record, a written agreement of the proposed institution to host the project and evidence of innovative research, preference given to Australian citizens; (c) international recognition as a leader in research; (d) publications in international refereed journals and an established research programme with 3 to 6 years' post-doctoral research experience preferably at an institution other than where the Ph.D. was obtained, awarded on merit to suitably qualified persons, irrespective of nationality. 

Place of study: in industry, higher education institutions or government research organizations in Australia. 

Duration: (a) 3 years maximum; (b) and (d) 5 years maximum; (c) 5 years, renewable subject to the competitive process. 

Value: variable; generally includes salary and research support grant. 

Applications: submitted through proposed institution, to the Director, at the above address. 



Scholarship: Scholarships 

Study Field: research 

Scholarships: Overseas Postgraduate Research Scholarships (OPRS) (300). 

Open to: citizens of all overseas countries (excluding New Zealand) who are commencing full-time study for a higher degree by research (Master's or Ph.D. degrees). 

Place of study: at Australian higher education institutions. 

Duration: Master's degree: 2 years; Ph.D.: 3 years with provision for extension in certain circumstances. 

Value: covers only the tuition fees set by the institution and basic health cover; Overseas Postgraduate Research Scholarship holders may obtain support from other sources to cover their living expenses. 

Applications: to the Registrar of the higher education institution at which the applicant proposes to study.
