Open to: nationals of all countries; (a) candidates having qualifications equivalent to at least a second-class honours degree in the first division of the University and a sound knowledge of English; must provide evidence of personal finances approximately equivalent to the amount of the scholarship; (b) graduates of the University of New England; preference will be given to applicants under age 25. Place of study: (a), (c) and (e) at the University; (b) at an institution overseas approved by the University of New England; (d) University of New England, University of New South Wales or University of Western Australia. Duration: (a) up to 2 years for Master's candidates and 3 years for Ph.D. candidates, with a possible extension of 6 months for the latter; (b) up to 3 years. Value: (a) basic yearly allowance, non-taxable, plus certain allowances; (b) yearly stipend for person with dependants, plus a yearly amount towards university fees, and travel grant. Applications: (a) by 31 October; (b) by 31 January; to the Administrative Officer, Research Grants and Scholarships.
